SOAS University of London invites you to an afternoon of exploring the Near and Middle East at our central London campus.

SOAS is a remarkable institution. Uniquely combining language scholarship, disciplinary expertise and regional focus, it has the largest concentration in Europe of academic staff concerned with Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

The Near and Middle East department at SOAS offers programmes of study that are not offered at any other UK university. It is the first and only UK department that offers the opportunity to study Hittite (the oldest known Indo-European language) and one of the very few British universities that offer the study of Akkadian and Sumerian languages.

In this half-day taster programme you will learn about the languages and cultures of the Near and Middle East during workshops and lectures delivered by renowned experts in the field. You will also have opportunities to ask questions and find out more about the study of the Near and Middle East at SOAS.

This taster course is open to year 12 and 13 students or anyone considering starting their undergraduate studies in September 2018 or 2019.

Location: School of Oriental and African Studies, SOAS University of London, London WC1H 0XG
